Yesterday we had Mike's Birthday Dinner with the family out at the parents' house. Heaven in a bowl was there and cake followed dinner, so I was content. There was the usual gathering of McCorristins (and Rassmusens) with a special celebrity guest appearances... (drum roll please)
Ryan brought his, "girlfriend" over for dinner! Her name is Suzy. She made it through the meal, playing a game after dinner, and viewing family photo albums from decades ago and the picture dvd that Chelsie made for Christmas 2 years ago. Yes, she made it through all of that and was not in tears, screaming, or running away as quickly as possible! Brave girl. We are a crazy family and she withstood the storm well.
Did I mention there was cake? There was ice cream too. Even though cake was really the main event! Mike's suffering through his last week of life in his 20's. A moment of silence... Thank you.
